Operations Manager/Training Initiative Coordinator

Description

1in6, a national non-profit that helps men who had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences in childhood to have healthier and happier lives, is looking for a unique individual with a perfect mix of experience in sales and marketing, management of training programming, and an understanding of issues related to male survivors of sexual abuse.

The Operations Manager / Training Initiative Coordinator, under the supervision of the Executive Director, will develop and implement marketing strategies to promote 1in6’s educational services; manage training and education inquiries; coordinate participation in training events; and assist in scheduling and travel arrangements for trainers.

Additional duties may include:

Identifying potential training clients; implementing marketing outreach; managing logistical details, drafting of professional contracts, newsletter management, data collection, web updates, and program communications.

Position Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in the following or related fields of Public Administration, Communications and Marketing, or Social Work or 4 year degree in non-related field with 4-years experience in Violence Prevention Education and/or response systems, Mental Health, Education or Social Services.
A commitment to the well-being of male survivors of sexual abuse
Experience in coordinating trainings and events
Knowledge of victim advocacy principles
Have a strong interest in social responsibility/social justice
Experience working with underserved and marginalized communities
Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse population, including campus, high level military personnel, community leaders, co-workers, colleagues, clients, and volunteers
Self-directed and takes initiative
Excellent writing, relational and facilitation skills
High level of skill in document creation/management
Have an understanding of confidentiality and managing sensitive information
PC/Windows literate with proven ability in Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, WordPress, and Keynote
Available to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends, and as necessary for after-hours events and meetings
Proficiency in social media platform management and strategy

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Executive Director the Operations Manager / Training Initiative Coordinator will:

Identify and develop training and presentation opportunities for 1in6, Inc.
Assist in marketing and advertising strategy and implementation for training initiatives
Assist in the development of relationships with potential community outreach partners (college campuses, community members, and others)

Administration:

Draft contracts and invoices for training events
Document outreach initiatives and other data
Tasks as directed by the Executive Director and training development staff

Development assistance:

Coordinate keynotes, workshops, clinical and military training events
Respond to requests and inquiries from various sources
Design new and update current presentation documents and educational information
Draft and schedule Training and Engagement newsletters

This is a mid level management / full-time position, based in Los Angeles. We are seeking candidates with excellent interpersonal communication and professional relational skills, with experience in implementing technical education and technology. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience studying or working in sexual violence intervention and prevention training and education along with experience coordinating training events and excellent technology skills.

Starting salary range is commensurate with experience and includes full company benefits (paid vacation, holidays, health insurance). This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA.

Communications & Social Media Intern

Description

The Communications & Social Media Intern, under the leadership of the Managing Director, will provide support for various awareness, engagement, and social media outreach initiatives. By designing newsletters, creating posts, monitoring feedback, and collecting analytical data, the intern will prepare, analyze, and provide essential information needed for a non-profit to reach target populations. The intern will also assist in other marketing events as determined by the Managing Director.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have an Associate degree or a two year undergraduate equivalent
  • Have a strong interest in social responsibility/social justice
  • Have a high level of skill navigating social media platforms
  • Have familiarity with WordPress; HTML and Analytics a plus
  • Have an understanding of confidentiality and managing sensitive information
  • Be very detail-oriented, organized, and able to work on multiple activities simultaneously
  • Have strong writing and communication skills
  • Be able to work 4-7  hours a week

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Managing Director, the intern will:

  • Assist in communication design and follow up; e.g., Newsletters
  • Monitor and generate social media calendar and trends
  • Document outreach initiatives
  • Monitor and ensure website content accuracy
  • Provide support to directors as needed

Non-Profit Administration Intern

Description:

1in6 seeks interns with a keen interest in non-profit management to join its team. The Nonprofit Administration intern, under the guidance of the Managing Director, will provide support for the various responsibilities needed to manage a growing organization. By assisting in the day-to-day operations, the intern will learn the strategic management of services as well as awareness and engagement initiatives implemented to support the 1 in 6 men.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must:

  • Be enrolled in a program for Business Administration/Management, Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, Social Work, or similar
  • Have an Associate degree or a two year undergraduate equivalent (3rd or 4th year preferred)
  • Have a high level of skill in document creation/management
  • Have a strong interest in social responsibility/social justice
  • Have an understanding of confidentiality and managing sensitive information
  • Be very detail-oriented, organized, and able to work on multiple activities simultaneously
  • Have exceptional people and communication skills
  • Be able to work 4-7 hours a week
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus
