Faith and spirituality can be important components of well-being and a good life. Many faith traditions provide valuable tools that can enable a survivor to break the cycle of guilt and shame. As such, 1in6 is committed to help create and support safe and meaningful resources that are inclusive of all aspects of individual men’s lives. Our Faith Outreach Program is an ongoing and amorphous process.
Lessons learned through our Campus Outreach Campaign, and also through our consultation and collaboration with national and local faith-based organizations and communities, have informed our current awareness and engagement efforts in this area. The goal of our Faith Outreach program is to foster inclusive and responsive information for survivors within their own traditions, values and beliefs. As such, we will continue to work closely with pastors, rabbis, ministers, priests, imams and other faith leaders to develop specialized resources to assist them in better supporting their communities with relevant programming.
