At the end of last year, our board approved a new Associate Executive Director position, and on January 1st, Arin Fisher started with 1in6 in that role. Arin has great charisma and enthusiasm for the 1in6 mission, is a dynamic team member, and adds a new outlook and diversity to our team. He is proving to be pivotal in allowing 1in6 to maximize the momentum of our current projects and future endeavors. Currently, he is assigned to revamping our development and grant writing efforts and assisting our burgeoning training initiative, which has experienced exponential growth in the last year and a half. I’ve included Arin’s bio here:
Arin was born and raised in Michigan. He received a BA in Creative Writing (Poetry), from Hope College, where he founded a nonprofit—Holland Is Ready—to combat anti-LGBTQ+ policies. He then attended graduate school at Princeton Theological Seminary, where he studied theological anthropology and political history, receiving an M. Div. Since then, Arin has worked in both the non-profit and for-profit worlds. When Arin moved to Los Angeles, he worked for an education technology startup and, in his free time, volunteered with the Center for Health Justice, which serves people impacted by incarceration. Most recently, he worked as a clinical chaplain at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles, where he provided spiritual care to patients and families in crisis.
Additionally, as we continue to leverage our creative department’s expertise and vision of leading the cultural conversation, we have also hired James Weber (Video Editor) and Tom Felke (Assistant Video Editor) to help our Creative Director, Andy Langdon, with all of the work that we have slated for this year, including our website redesign, video library featuring interviews with male survivors, and two video pieces that will be fundamental in amplifying our message. I’ve included James’ and Tom’s bios here:
James is a video editor from Denver, Colorado. His work includes short form documentaries, music videos, short films, online web content, and graphic design. In his free time, James enjoys all forms of science fiction, creating art, and hiking.
Tom is from Plymouth, Indiana and moved to Los Angeles to study film. He is currently a Junior film production major at Loyola Marymount University. At LMU, he is involved with the Special Olympics Club as well as ECO Students. In his free time, Tom enjoys playing basketball, camping, and playing the piano.
Thank you for your continued support of our work. We could not achieve all that we do without our accomplished staff and YOU.
