One of the three pillars of our work at 1in6 is to raise awareness around the issue of childhood sexual abuse of men. This month, we are in the middle of what may be our most extensive awareness opportunity ever.
Thanks in great measure to our partnerships with the Joyful Heart Foundation, the NO MORE Campaign, and Viacom Networks, 1in6 is highlighted in two, 30-second Joyful Heart NO MORE PSAs that began running on all of the Viacom Networks March 1st and will continue to run through the 13th of the month. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, there will be eight separate 1in6/NO MORE electronic billboards the entire week of March 7th on all of the Viacom electronic billboards in Times Square, New York. The billboards alone could be seen by as many as 2,500,000 people during that week. Below you will find both of the PSAs as well as a link to all of the print ads, eight of which will appear on the electronic billboards. Please feel free to forward, as you see fit, to individuals, organizations, and others who may be interested in raising awareness about our issue, and about 1in6.
Part of our mission for the last nine years has been to create dialogue around the issue of childhood sexual abuse of men, and through that dialogue, de-stigmatize the issue. We believe that by removing the stigma, it will become possible for more men to seek help and live healthier, happier lives. The commitment of the Joyful Heart Foundation, the NO MORE Campaign, and Viacom Networks has helped put the issue front and center like never before.
