With the tragedies at Penn State and other major institutions, and with society just beginning to understand this pandemic, these are exciting times for 1in6. After spending the past five-plus years building the most comprehensive set of resources for men and their loved ones as they navigate the difficult recovery process, we are ready to take 1in6 to a national and eventual worldwide level. The time is now.

One of the greatest hurdles we consistently face is connecting with foundations. While many have funded our work, many don’t feel comfortable dealing with this subject matter, and most foundations simply don’t know enough about the issue to find it worthy of funding. This challenge is a great reason why childhood sexual abuse continues to thrive in our country.

So, with our organization poised for growth, and with a growing number of men and loved ones feeling comfortable managing a successful recovery and reaching out to us, we must rely on personal donations to fulfill our mission.
